ESTIMATOR
Reporting directly to the Chief Estimator, responsible for preparing estimates and proposals by collecting and studying information and analyzing the scope of work and requirements, ensuring all opportunities are fully realized with an emphasis on quality, client satisfaction and profitability.
ESSENTIAL ELEMENTS
- Create proposals and complete estimates for assigned projects.
- Compute cost factors and prepare estimates used for management purposes such as planning, organizing, scheduling work, and preparing bids.
- Review, interpret, and quantify estimate cost, analyzing work in technical specification documents.
- Prepare estimates and clarifications, conduct analysis of bids, and calculate alternatives.
- Review data to determine material and labor requirements and prepare itemized lists.
- Oversee and manage all bid activities and communication including change orders and revisions.
- Solicit, collect, and analyze subcontractor/vendor budgets and quotations.
- Prepare and participate in the presentation of proposals, discussion of project scope, estimated costs, risks, and opportunities content with customers.
- Work with Construction Department on estimating schedules, labor requirements, or longer lead time items.
- Conduct pre-construction meetings to inform Project Manager about project status and communication of crucial project elements.
SECONDARY ELEMENTS
- Perform other related duties as assigned or as required.
REQUIREMENTS
- 5+ years of hands-on landscape construction experience, estimating/design experience preferred.
- Broad-based knowledge of how the components of commercial hard-scape and soft-scape designs are built.
- Understanding of project management concepts.
- Ability to read and interpret Landscape/Architectural/Structural plans.
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Aptitude in navigating the Internet.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a collaborative team
- Self-motivated with strong communication and organization skills.
- Demonstrated professionalism and strong work ethic.
- Focus on accuracy, prompt follow up, and deadlines fulfillment.
- Excellent math and computer skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail.
- Valid Driver’s License
